Wow, 20 years already? I hate that I missed the 10 year reunion, but I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone in the fall.

Since school I have worked at several places. (Food Lion – meat cutter;  Ripley’s Aquarium – manager; Butterfly Pavilion – director; Denny’s – manager; Ocean Lakes – food service manager; etc…) I now work at Regency Towers in Myrtle Beach, I also run Abaco Bay Apartments on Forestbrook Road, and I have a small Lawn Care business. (I work too much!)  I got married in 1995 (Michelle Evans class of ’91). I have 2 wonderful daughters. (Krystal – 12 & Mandi 9 ….oh, now I remember why I have to work so much!)

Can’t wait to see everyone! – Tony B.

Wow! Where have 20 years gone?  After graduation from SHS, I went to Furman University.  Graduated there in 1992.  Got married to my wonderful wife, Tomoko, in 1993 (We met at Furman where she was an exchange student from Japan).  Went back to school in 1994 and recieved my MS from Clemson University in 1996.  Then it was off to Duke Univ. where I received my MA in 1999 and PhD in 2002.  Spent 2002 - 2005 at UNC-Chapel Hill in a research position before accepting an appointment as an assistant professor at Miami University where I still work today.  Along the way, we had two kids, my daughter Kei (pronounced "kay", age 5) and my son Kaisei (age 3).  My folks still live in Socastee, so I hope to make it back for the reunion (especially since I missed the 10th).

I went to Socastee only from 87-88, but I really loved the school and people that I met, everyone was great.   Nice to see some of the people that I knew.

Wow!  20 years seems like so long, but it was just yesterday that we were seniors.
I graduated from USC in 1992 (psychology) and then got my MAT in elementary education from USC in 1994.  I got married and  moved to Georgia where I taught at a military prep school.  I divorced and moved to Greenville, SC in 2000 where I started teaching 8th grade earth science.  In 2004 I married my husband, Mark.  We just welcomed our baby girl, Sophia, in January.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion!  Best to all.

From Kelvin:

Well, let me share with you all the wonders, trials and tribulations of my life twenty years later after high school. We are getting old! I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. In 1989 I enrolled in Job Corp in Albany Georgia and I took a carpentry class. I was able to transfer to a Job Corp in Southern California where I learn fast, carpentry wasn't something I wanted to do in 100 plus degree heat. I have been living in California now for 19 years. While finding my way in California I enrolled in a community college and found that it was something I enjoyed. It was so different than high school. I supported myself working for UPS. I got married in 1992 and we had a son by the name of Kamal which means (Perfection). Kamal was diagnoses with Pompes disease which is a rare genetic disorder. This disease is an inherited disorder caused by the buildup of a complex sugar called glycogen in the body's cells. The accumulation of glycogen in certain tissues, especially muscles, impairs their ability to function normally. Unfortunately this disease took my son life at the age of one. The life span of the disease is 1 year. In 1994 I started a new career in Law enforcement as a Correctional Officer unfortunately in 1999 my wife and I decided to end our marriage.

I continued my education at Cal State San Bernardino then transferred to University of Riverside and graduated from University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. The college world was fun so I didn’t stop there. The Juris Doctor program was calling me so I enrolled in Loyola Law School working on my juris doctor. I was schedule to graduate in June 2004 but it was delayed. I don't plan to be a lawyer at this time maybe in the future. I like what I do for a living. I have lots of room for upward mobility. I like the sound of having a JD after my name or some day a DR. in front of my name. One day it will come to be a reality. I remarried in 2002 to a beautiful lady name Ingrid. She is a Law Enforcement Agent with a MSW in Social work. God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters. Savannah is 5 years old and Sarah 3 years old. They are so much fun and bring us so much joy.
I look forward to seeing everyone 20 years later.

Hello Everyone

20 years! Where does the time go. I moved away for a few years but I guess what they say is true once you have the sand in your shoes you can't seem to get it out. I have been back at the beach for over ten years and this is home.
Can't wait to see you all again!

Stefanie

Hello everyone!  Sorry I missed our ten year reunion,  I was busy with a new business and building a new home!!  I am still married to Angela... April will be 20 years.  We have two children Ashlyn 19 and Chase 14!  Ashlyn graduated from SHS in 2007 and is in her first year of college.  Chase is an 8th grader at Forestbrook Middle he just made the JV Baseball team at SHS!!!  I have coached baseball for my son's travel ball team for 7 years.  It must run in the family because Angela is now coaching cheerleading at SHS.  We love staying involved in the Socastee community.   Can't wait to catch up with everyone.
